A long established favourite for Transition Year students, the Pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago is an experience that often students complete during their school years and enjoy the memories of for years to come.  On the Saffron Camino Walk Tour, you can walk a distance of over 115KM fully guided! Yes, you can have your own, native Spanish, Saffron appointed Coordinator with the group from the start of your tour to the finish, which will ensure your group can focus on getting the most out of the experience together.

The Saffron team recommends that, if you can, you complete this tour over seven days, walking for five of the seven. You will arrive on Day 1 to meet your guide, rest and prepare for the beginning of your walk on Day 2 where you will begin at Sarria Portomaria. You will be presented with your Credencial Document, issued by the Cathedral of Santiago and throughout the course of the next five days you will collect the required stamps as you walk the route under the guidance of your Coordinator, stopping only at Saffron Approved Stops and Hotels along the way. We will also ensure your luggage is transferred from stop to stop each day for you. Upon arrival in Santiago and when you report to the Pilgrim Office, your documents will be checked and you will receive your Compostela certificate. Your last evening and next full day is spent in Santiago de Compostela, relaxing, unwinding and discovering the beauty of the World Heritage.

In addition to our guided walking tour, you may also consider a general Cultural Tour of Santiago or some of our groups have combined the walk with a short City Cultural experience in another Spanish City such as Madrid or Barcelona.
